Youngji LEE’s work retains warmth as well as intuitive beauty. She majored in traditional Korean painting, and through her work using hanji (a type of traditional Korean paper) and bunchae (powdered paints), she gives a sense of comfort that seems to contain her long career as an artist. Above all, she puts a lot of time and effort into creating an in-depth background, and completes a tree with all her heart, as if each leaf has its own story. The movements and gestures of the birds around the trees that are depicted in an extremely simple way reveal their presence and convey a sense of liveliness to the viewer. Each element in the work serves as an opportunity for warm communication and comfort to the hearts of modern people who are tired of complicated and hectic daily life.
